  • Content you post (comments, flags, reviews)
  • Search queries and property addresses you enter
  • Interactions with listings (saves, helpful votes)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Platform
  • Display your posts and contributions to other users
  • Calculate reputation scores and trust metrics
  • Improve the Platform and user experience
  • Communicate with you about your account
  • Prevent fraud and enforce community guidelines

3. Information Sharing

We share your information as follows:

  • Public Content: Your display name, badge type, comments, and reviews are visible to other users
  • Service Providers: We use third-party services (Supabase for database, Google Maps, RapidAPI, FEMA) to operate the Platform
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety

4. Your Content

Content you post on RealTalk is public. You retain ownership of your content but grant us a license to display, reproduce, and distribute it on the Platform. This license continues even if you stop using the Platform. We will remove your publicly visible content upon account deletion, but may retain it in anonymized form for platform integrity purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
  • Secure password storage using industry-standard hashing
  • Row-level security on all database tables
  • Access controls and authentication requirements

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices

You can:

  • Update your profile information at any time
  • Delete your comments and reviews
  • Request deletion of your account — deletion requests will be processed within 30 days
  • Opt out of communications (if applicable)

7. Third-Party Services

RealTalk integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: Database and authentication services
  • Google Maps: Map visualization and geolocation
  • RapidAPI (US Real Estate API): Property listing data
  • FEMA: Flood zone information (public API, no key required)

These services have their own privacy policies governing data they receive through the Platform.

8. Cookies and Tracking

Our authentication system uses cookies to keep you signed in. We do not sell your data to third parties or use tracking pixels for advertising purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

RealTalk is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we may retain some information for legal compliance purposes.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • Access to your personal data
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of your data
  • Data portability
  • Objection to certain processing
